Summer Outfit Insperation

Well it's Monday which means back to the grind and wishing it was the weekend. More specifically I wish it was this weekend because I have my first dress fitting on Saturday! (que high pitch girl ekkkkkkk!!)
This past weekend I enjoyed a wonderful Saturday with my Momma. On the agenda, completing my trial of my wedding day makeup and shopping for a mother of the bride dress. Check me out over on Engaged and Inspired this Wednesday to hear more about my makeup trial and do's and don'ts of bridal makeup.

Both were a success and made for an awesome girls day. We also got to sneak in a little shopping as well. I am loving all of the funky colored denim and anything coral right now. Here are some of the fun summer trends that I am digging.

Catching My Breath & Pintrest Cooking

Hi Peeps,
Sorry for the long delay in blogging this week. Seems like last week has rolled into this week in terms of motivation and lack of time. I have been trying to take a little more time to myself lately and enjoy where I am at in my life. Like spending time with these two...
Hanging out in our sweet spool!
(spool: a large spa and mini pool in one)
Celebrating this gals awesome bachelorette weekend. Yes, those are silver eye lashes and a camo do-rag. That's how we roll!
And stopping to check out the dinosaurs?! WTF? Yes, this was spotted on my drive to work.

And in other news, I have also been busy making these and these from Pintrest.

The Mr and I liked these Peanut Butter & Banana Power Bars. They consisted of:
1 1/2 cups quick oats
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup of milk
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 large mashed banana
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Prep time was only about 5 minutes and it took 20 minutes to bake. Pretty simple and a great snack alternative. I think next time I am going to add some whole peanuts to the mixture in order to give it some crunch and add some more texture.

Funfetti Cake Dip

If you are a funfetti cake lover, your going to love this as a "skinny" alternative. At our house it is refered to as crack dip because once you try it, your hooked. The ingredients are again pretty simple consisting of:
1 box of funfetti cake mix
2 cups of plain fat-free yogurt
1 cup of fat free cool whip
Mix it all together and chill for 4 hours. We ate ours with graham crackers and vanilla wafers and it was awesome. Kelly over at Eat Yourself Skinny, can give you all the break down in terms of fat and calories. As I am trying to be a good and stick to my paleo diet hardcore until the wedding, I had a couple ten vanilla wafers and dip. Opps. I couldn't help it. It was that good.

What fun recipes have you made from Pintrest lately?

Its Ok...It's Thankful Thursday

Today I am linking up with Tracy at Then I Got to Thinking, for Thankful Thursdays along with Amber from, A Complete Waste of Makeup for It's Ok Thursdays.

As you might have seen, this week has been a bit rough for me. And you know what, its ok. People are allowed to have weeks where they are a bit off. With that though, I am very thankful for this guy. He puts up with me and even after all of the wedding DIYs I put him through, he still wants to marry me.
In less than 4 months!

I am also very thankful for my wonderful friends who helped me finish all of these.
Yep, that is the start to wedding favors.

In other news:
I have yet to finish last weeks laundry....and that is ok.
I have yet to complete my laundry list of wedding to do's this week because I don't really feel like it ....and that is ok.

But in order to end on a high note, glass half full here people. I am very thankful for where I am right now in my life. I have a wonderful soon to be husband, great friends who are planning an awesome bachlorette & bridal shower along with a very supportive and wonderful family.

So tell me, what are you thankful for?

Engaged & Inspired: Have Your Cake and Eat Something Else Too

Check me out over at Engaged & Inspired where today I am talking about the idea of not having a wedding cake at our wedding! Don't worry though, we have plenty of other sweet treats in mind instead.

Happy Wednesday!

Overcommitted

Overcommitted. This seems to be the story of my life this week, check it, the last couple of months. I always seem to do this to myself and I am not sure why. I keep piling more and more things on my plate until I run myself in circles and at somepoint end up breaking down into a crying mess. Yes, I said crying, that is how we deal with s*it around here. It's like I have a memory fart and I just keep saying yes, I can do that! Here's hoping this week flys by fast and I can get some downtime this weekend. Sister needs a break for real.

National Running Day

Did you know that today is national Running Day? Me either actually. National Running Day is where runners all over the US declare their passion for running. I have been pretty adamant on how running has been such a big part of my every day life for the past five years. So, in celebration I thought I would share some photos from a various races throughout the years.

My biggest running support and running partner, my mom

Running with friends and my love

Add the all important, running for Tiffany's at the Nike Woman's Half Marathon. Plus the sexy firefighters!

Are you a runner? What is your motivation to run?

Stay tuned, as I still have to fill you in on my experience of attending the Sacramento Bloggers Meet Up this past weekend.
